Kobe Beef!!! What’s all the fuss about?

by Organik D’va

cookedI dont know about you but I have never been a fan of beef in any shape or form. I didnt really get excited about the taste! Everything started to change when I tried a New York Style steak at the KEG Steakhouse! It really opened up my eyes and made me want to try other types of steak.

Kobe Wagyu Beef is a whole new category of beef my friends! To give a little history of the meat,  this technique started in Kobe, Japan . The farmers started to raise their cows differently in order to tenderize the meat. When I say different techniques , everything has been thought of! The cows  get massages, listen to soothing music and even drink beer to reduce the amount of stress that they might have because we all know that stress is no good for no one, not even for the animals. We all know that the fat gives the taste and the way it is distributed in the meat is what gives it the uniqueness and high cost.

The fat is marbelized in the meat ( check image below) instead of being on the outside and it becomes highly unsaturated so easy to digest!

With all of this information that was given to me , I decided to give the Kobe beef a try! All I can say is WOW!!!! Can you be bitting in your piece of meat and literally feel it melting in your mouth?! It is possible!!! I was stunned, delighted and excited about this. I experienced this  at the Suite 701 restaurant in the Old Port. The Kobe hamburger I had was very simple (just the way i like it) with caramelized onions and cheese made with Guiness beer, effortless perfection. I didnt think I would experince this level of satisfaction but I did.

I urge you to check it out because it is worth it! There are a few places that you can go to try that fancy beef!  For example Suite 701 or the Angus Beef Steakhouse on Drummond st. Satisfaction almost guaranteed…I am trying to protect myself here!  :-)

So enjoy the fine dining and let me know how it  goes for you!
