Fashion Support Needed!

by Organik D’ va

Guess what my friends?! The only way to keep fashion alive in Montreal is by sticking together and supporting each other!  I don`t want to ge into politics too much but the fashion industry is often left at  bottom of the government’s priority list. They want Montreal to be globally known for their fashion events but will not necessarily support in time of need. Ok I know I said Idid not want to get into to this but…..anywho the point is SUPPORT!! SUPPORT!! SUPPORT!!!

Marie Victorin and College Lasalle (two of the big fashion school in Montreal) are having that annual fshion show to display the students creations. Ok I know what you are thinking ‘students= not a designer yet or not quite there yet’! Well let me tell you that I saw the finals for Canadian Students at the Montreal Fashion Week presented by Telio and there was nothing amature about the fashion show. I would even say that it was more exciting than some designers collection that I saw before hand. The students are not afraid, They have fresh ideas and come up with some very very creative pieces. So trust me that what you will see at the fashion shows will not be a waste of time. The events are about  a few days apart but it is worth trying to attend both of them. You can look at both event pictures and see which one inspires you the most if you cant attend both fashion shows.

The College Lasalle (first picture)show will be held at Palais de Congres for 25$ may 9th at  4pm or 7h30pm (there will be 2 presentations) . Cegep Marie-Victorin fashion show  will have their event also for 25$ on May11th,12th and 13th.  The last date is more of a gala with diner and cocktails included hosted by none other than Quebec Designer Jean Airoldi.

You have a few events to go to this week so enjoy and remember that whatever you are wearing right now, the designer had people supporting him or her all along that made them reach the level that they are now.  Let’s support the new generation!

Love Always,

Organik D’Va
