More than just paperplanes…

By M♥

As I work in the art industry, I am always on the lookout for new, cool, modern, beautiful and poetic works of art and the artists that made them or the galleries that represent them. And with a blog named Paperplanes, I could not pass the opportunity to talk about paper art but not any paper art. You may think japanese origami or papier maché, but no, it’s paper sculpture… something I honestly had never seen before with such finess and I want to share.

Let me introduce you to Jeff Nishinaka, L.A.-based artist who stumbled upon working paper quite accidently after a school assignment involving the use of paper as a medium. That was the ‘ah-ha’ moment that triggered the start of a brilliant career that now spans for more than 28 years. From viewing his portfolio, there is no stopping for Mr. Nishinaka. What do you think?

A tour around the world…

Grrrrr….

Where Noah?

“Ha yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Yah!”

Walking in ivory Central Park…

I invite you to visit his site and be amazed by the general splendor of his portfolio… Enjoy.
