Last week after a long day, I wanted to sit back and relax at a nice restaurant. That is exactly what I experienced! What is the trick to receive what you ask for!? Well you have to be open and attentive! My ‘openess’ directed me  to the restaurant ‘La Buvette chez Simone’.

Although I was excited to explore a new spot, I still questionned the name of the place ! La Buvette chez Simone…hhuummm….I see lots of beer!  So I get in and the place feels warm and looks trendy. The energy of the restaurant is very comfortable, the lights are dimmed, the tables are small, it is all about the closeness! I am all for that!  Whether you are with a boyfriend/girlfriend, a group of friends or on a date, this restaurant is perfect.

So we (my friend and I) get seated and start browsing through the menu. I can’t help but notice that there are many groups of people around. So I am thinking ‘ooooh not a tapas place! I am hungry!’ I look at the menu and I am yerning for something simple and tasty. The chicken fits the requirements quite nicely so we ordered one plate to share and a greek salad with a wonderful glass of Gamay wine from France. Strong and fruity, just the way I like my wine!

So the food arrives and I am impressed! How cute is the presentation! The food comes on a piece of wood (like a tray)! I was already excited but then this excitement turned into bliss when I had my first bite! I  picked the rotisserie style chicken with vegetables…wow! There were some great vegetables like turnips in the mix and it came with a yougurt based sauce. One thing you must know about my taste is that  am all about simplicity. Not too many mixtures of flavour, spices or sauces….. its just me and the food. All that was missing from that experience was the pleasure of eating with my hands. Touching the food and then feeling the tip of my fingers heating up  my lower lip is a sensorial experience that allows me to connect with my food.  What can I say..eating is an eperience for me!

I gladly had space for dessert so I took a chocolate terrine that was mouth watering! The waitress mentionned that all the desserts are home made!!! How fun is that!?

At Buvette de Simone the ambiance is very intimate. The lights are there to support the vibe, the plates are made to share, the music is good (there is a live DJ..the night I was there the actress/dj Monia Chokri was on the turntable!…If you dont know who she is….look her up! )  Needless to say that I had an amazing partner to share this experience with!

La Buvette chez Simone is definitely part of my top 10 restaurants that one must go to laugh,share,eat, dance and enjoy what life has to offer…last but not least it is a great place to fall in love…I know I have!
