Old Navy makes us dream of chilly days under the sun |

The dry snowflake that will fall and set on the tip of my nose and wrestle with its heat before it yields liquidly has not fallen down yet, and yet I enjoy its break time in the clouds. It gives me time to think of the aftermath of its army’s forthcoming wave… winter.

My then daydreams alter from spending time with my family indoors, or hit the slopes with friends to finally learn how to snowboard, then soak at a scandinavian spa’s hammam nearby, to… watching the sun set where ‘waves are crashing on a solitary beach’ (a line taken from Jill Scott’s song “Free”… beautiful) in New England, not too far or in Labadie, in Haiti. Strangely, I always think of what to wear… lightweight confortable fabric in pale colors but then with a pop of bright. And when the moon says “hello” and blow a light wind towards us (I’m not alone, you see!), I don a light jacket with a feather-weight scarf, and maybe shoe a thin pair of boot. We end the night by the fire with a soulful jam session. You feel me?

Okay, so where am I going with this? I’m going to Old Navy. Their upcoming Spring Summer collection is all but the latter – the sun, the beach, the chilly wind…

It’s at a glance preppy and sweet while sporting light neutral earth color tops and shorts, and at other glance bold and bohemian with colorful bold-printed scarves, and bright color blocking. And for men, grey hues, fitted denim and piling of lightweight layers of tops – the tee, the hoodie, the jacket – smartly ready for any shift of chill and heat under an unpredictable weather.
