Ever thine, ever mine, ever ours…

After attending the amazing Bridal Boudoir Affair two weeks ago (Organik D’va will tell you all about it soon), it got me thinking about, well… weddings. Particularly, my own wedding. I’m not engaged or anything, but it seriously got me thinking about the whole ordeal. Seeing the beautiful well crafted cakes, food galore handed to you on a silver platters left and right, photography services, honeymoon contests, table arrangements,  the bridal fashion show… BOMBS OVER BAAAGDAAAAD! It was to be expected of course – it’s a bridal show! But I hadn’t foreseen the self-realisation that I never really thought about the day I would say I DO to the man I would love forever and ever and him to me.

Unlike many of my counterparts, I’m not the kind of girl that had her wedding day already planned in her head since she was five years old, even after watching Disney’s Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and the Swan Princess. It was just not an occurence… However, I feel elated when a friend or family member is tying the knot. Who wouldn’t be… ℒℴѵℯ is beautiful!

All this to say that I’ve recently been getting wedding-related thought flashes at least twice a day. Am I welcoming them? Truthfully? … The answer is yes.

I want to get married.

There. I said it. The cat is out of the sack! Don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I did not want to get married, I just never really thought about wanting it, and now, well… I do! So what do you think a fashion lover starts browsing for after THAT realisation? Exactly…Wedding dresses!

Besides Vera Wang and Monique Lhullier, I don’t know many bridal fashion designers. But then, why should I look for one particularly? I would rather go with the designers I know and find a nice dress, fitting for THE day. That’s when, instinctively, one name came to my mind. The fashion designer, who to me, never fails in creating grace, femininity, sexiness, romance and love on women. My favorite gown designer of all time… ELIE SAAB. Let alone the aforementionned enumeration, Saab’s Fall Winter 2009 Couture collection was nothing short of a bridal fashion show itself. So who do you think I’ll go to when MY day comes? I’ll fly to Dubai if I need to…

The romantic in me now sees clarity for this day. Am I excited? Yes I am.

I invite you to step into my world and discover the amazing creativity and timelessness of Elie Saab’s designs.

Gorgeous, huh?

I’m curious to know who your favorite bridal gown designer is and/or how do you picture your wedding?

Live. Laugh. Love.
