Seafood fest!!
by Gerardine ‘Organik D’Va’ Jeune
This week it was my mum’s birthday! We ( a few members of the family) decided to get together in a restaurant to celebrate! The idea popped in my head and I went on the website to check out the menu and pics of the restaurant. After a few seconds of reflection, I decided that us 9 were going to LE MILSA POISSON restaurant.
You migh have heard of the brazilian restaurant LE MILSA on Bishop in downtown montreal. They are famous for their all-you-can-eat meat concept for only 29.95$ +tx. It is simple, you get meat until you can’t function anymore! They offer 10 different types of meat, from proc to lamb, everything is grilled to perfection!
If you have a huge group of people who love meat and don’t know were to take them, Le MILSA is your best bet! They even have entertainment on site! I always find that to be a little tacky if you ask me but it spices up an experience so it’s all good!
So this is a quick review of the meat factory!
Downstairs from this place, they opened a more demure part of LE MILSA that offers, all you can eat SEAFOOD! I am a huuuuuuge fan of seafood, for I find it lighter on the stomach than meat! My mom also is a fan of seafood so it was the perfect place to take her!!!!
The decor was nice, the whole restaurant is white and the chairs are dark cherry colered wood.
Ok now for the food! It was pretty good! They offer a Paella as a side dish with all the seafood. I personally can eat the Paella as a meal with all the seafood it has! They offered a good variety of seafood! We had Tilapia, Red snapper, calamari, salmon and cod…it was well presented! You truly have to be a fish kinda person, even me who loves seafood after a while I got a little tired of it. Ok between me and you, I was thinking of all the meat that being served upstairs and I started to crave lamb! haha! It was good but not amazing! I felt that certain things werent too fresh and too much deep fried for my taste but all and all it was good food and good times!
A thought crossed my mind the day after, I felt that 29.95$ for all you can eat seafood is too cheap. Let’s keep it real, seafood is not cheap! In some restaurants they dont even bother pricing certain fish the have. You see an option that says ‘fish of the day at market price’, its pretty vague but when you know that prices of seafood change like the weather and its becoming a luxury to eat seafood, the quantity is not infinite unfortunately! Wanting to get the BEST quality comes with a price tag!
I would not mind paying 40$ for seafood knowing that I get to eat a higher quality for that price. I often think that certain concepts are hard to maintain and I think that ‘all you can eat’ seafood is one of them. I sincerely hope that they will have as much success as the ‘meat version’ upstairs! What would be the solution? A higher price!? A better variety of seafood?
We will just have to wait and see! I forgot to mention that in the ‘seafood section’ downstairs you can order the meat option on friday and saturday nights only and guess what?! We were there on a Thursday!
I am present to the abundance of food we have in our lives, let’s ALWAYS be in GRATITUDE.
Love Always!
