Staying at home

This blog can be used as a reference to find where to eat, what to do or even what to wear to a certain extent but I must say that there is no place like home my dear readers! The weather is acting funny, a few day ago I decided to get rid of my winter coat! Ha! Huge mistake, it’s still cold out. It’s funny how I always know that every year in mid march it is not the end of  the cold season but I still get fooled by the sun! When will we learn?

While we are anxiously waiting for the weather to warm up, staying at home instead of eating out is sometimes the best option. This week I went to the grocery store to find a few things to munch on for the night. I passed by the frozen diner section and I saw a big sign  that said: ‘CASA DI MAMA’ on special.  I am, of course, talking about a pizza that has been produced in Germany by the Dr.Oetker. I decided to try it to see if its good. First I must say that I am a FAN of pizza!!!! The best one I had is (sorry to say this) in Miami!!!!  called Pizza Rustica, let me tell you, it is another dimension of pizza! I just checked out the website and have noticed that France picked up a few franchises! I am waiting on someone in Montreal to do the same, it is worth EVERY penny!

While I am patiently waiting on someone who will buy a franchise, I will enjoy my Casa Di Mama pizza! I was very impressed! First the dough is tasty (especially the crust), the flavor I got was a simple pepperoni but spiced it up by putting edam cheese and rosemary! I personally feel that Mozzarella cheese is blah so adding a tastier cheese to it, is a  pretty good idea. For example, I add Parmesan Reggiano cheese on my pizza, the stronger the cheese the better!

this is the flavor i got! credits: http://www.oetkermoments.ca/

This pizza is light and tasty! The rosemary touch reminds me of the fancy gourmet pizza you get in certain restaurants. Between you and me, this is the perfect excuse for not cooking on a random night. It takes 12 minutes to cook and voila you have yourself a feast! The pepperoni is not the only flavor they offer; they have Quattro Formaggi (i also had this one!!! you have to love cheese though!) from the Ristorante category

Ristorante! Also a good one! credits: http://shelflifetastetest.com

Now dont get me wrong, these pizzas will never replace the energy of walking downtown and grabbing a slice of pizza on the go and I remember talking to you about Tomato (another lovely place in montreal for pizza) but I felt like sharing the Dr.Oetker products so that whenever you dont feel like cooking and you are home, you will know what to do!

So next time you are grocery shopping get the Casa di Mama pizza from Dr. Oetker, put some fresh baby spinach and cucumbers on the side and you’ve got yourself a meal. You guys are giving me an idea for my next article!!! How to grocery shop?! What are my favorite items at the groceries?! ;-)

PS: get two boxes because I was alone and ate the whole pizza by myself….they are pretty small (or i eat alot! ha!)

Enjoy the grocery shopping!

Love always
