From mid-July to mid-August, Montreal is the host of many fun-filled amazing festivals, 11 of which are part of the Festimania collective, helping to make the city a world-class tourist destination.

I often find myself telling my out-of-town friends when they don’t know when to come visit Montreal, to do so in the summer. The main reason is usually- well there’s the good company (of course!), the look and feel of the city, our restaurants, the nightlife, but also because of the series of numerous festivals we have, which started as early as this past weekend with the Francofolies. The streets of the city center is already buzzing with music lovers from all over the world. And the buzz of festival goers will be as such until the end of summer! Can you believe festivals here welcome 3 millions goers? Amazing!

This year, a new initiative relating to Montreal festivals was born, Festimania. Festimania is a collective which helps make Montreal THE destination for festivals. Eleven festivals celebrating culture, art, and design in its many forms from films to fashion, music to lifestyles, and more. There really is a festival fit for everybody. Here are the 11 festivals that make Festimania:

Festimania also has its ambassador, musician & singer Merton who months ago took over the Main. An impromptu of singing improv that gathered city walkers to listen to his freestyle rambling on the what’s happening around him but most importantly to promote the collective of festivals. Picture singing tweets, a man and his piano. Wish I were there to see it!
