Last week, June 21st in the soon the be relocated Planetarium of Montreal was held the launch for the Lise Watier 2011 Fall Collection called Equinox.
I always like to find out what the creative process is behind everything! So i needed to find out what exactly was an equinox.
An equinox occurs twice a year, when the tilt of the Earth‘s axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun, the center of the Sun, thus, being in the same plane as the Earth’s equator. The term ‘equinox’ can also be used in a broader sense, meaning the date when such a passage happens. The word “equinox” is derived from the Latin aequus (equal) and nox (night), as around the equinox, the night and day have approximately equal length.
At an equinox, the Sun is at one of two opposite points on the celestial sphere where the celestial equator (i.e. declination 0) and ecliptic intersect. These points of intersection are called equinoctial points: classically, the vernal point and the autumnal point. By extension, the term equinox may denote an equinoctial point. (Wkipedia.org)
First thing on the menu was to explain to us how the ‘celestial system’ works and how we can recognize the big bear from the small bear in the sky. Even if you are not into stars, it is a sight to see!!! The day they picked to present to us the products was carefully selected because at 5h13pm there was the solstice happening, which has been told that it separates the seasons. The next movement will be the equinox on September 23rd which will mark the beginning of Fall or Autumn if you prefer. All of this is pretty interesting!

So back to the make-up, Lise Watier was there as a surprise to welcome us, she is a kind woman I must say! After the wonderful presentation of all the products, we asked to go into the next room to try the products and mingle, it was wonderful! The products from the Equinox collection are detailed between 20$ and 35$ . I must say that taupe is THE color for fall, every one should have a shade of taupe in their kits, it goes with everything!
In the collection we find some best sellers that are back like the METAMORFIX which transforms powder eyeshadow into a long lasting creamy/metallic eyeshadow and you can even use the liquid to create liner with the shadow. This liquid comes with the quad ‘wet and dry’ that has shades of taupe, grey, chocolate brown and ‘teal’ blue. You can create a sexy smokey with these shades! (35$ for the ensemble)
The Magic Liquid to spice up your shadow

Then you have the duo ‘bronze & glow’ which gives a pinch of color and shine for the sometimes flat season. You can apply it all over for a nice bronzed looked and accentuate on your cheeks so everything looks natural. (27$)
The duo blush (bronze and glow)
Duo Bronze & Glow
Duo Bronze 27$
The next exciting product is the eyeshadow duo ‘mineraliste’ that comes in two shades. Either ‘misty green’ inspired by the foggy mountains or the limited edition satiny ‘bleu glacier’ which works perfectly on a night where the stars are aligned…..pretty sexy! (25$)

This fall it is all about having ‘plump’ and healthy looking lips and get the look with the help of Lise Watier’s ‘plumpissimo’ lip gloss that is pretty shiny and comfortable on the lips, you can even get the ‘plumpissimo’ lipstick for a perfect pair or wear alone if lip gloss is not your thing! (20$ for both lipstick and gloss).
A new product that has been introduced is a 24hr lasting eyeliner in brown not black…brown! I like that idea….sometimes black can be too strong of a color. It is waterproof and with a little bit of water use your fingers and peel it right off!!! You gotta love that!
Longlasting eyeliner (21$)
Last but not least, Lise Watier offers a limited edition ‘fuchsia frost’ and ‘espresso’ a deep creamy brown polish, feels like a must have for the season!
