Discover Montreal’s best eateries through the Dishcrawl events.

Back when I attended design school, my classmates/friends and I called it hop-eating. We’d start our appetizers at a bistro, then hop, off to a chic restaurant to savor our main meal and hop again, ending the trip sipping on drinks and eating dessert at a nice resto-lounge. In one day, we’d discover three restaurants in the city. It’s been the best way for me to garnish my personal repertoire of places to eat in the city.

How funny that this thing we did just as friends is now a monthly event happening in different major cities in North America like San Francisco, New York and here in Montreal. Our hop-eating outings are commonly known today as Dishcrawl, the social dining experience. Basically, you get to eat in four different restaurants (4 plates), all on one special night. And many are hosted by the chefs or owners of the restaurants. Pretty neat, huh?

This month’s Dishcrawl will take place this Tuesday, August 23rd and the “dishcrawlers”, which I’ll be as well on that night, will titillate their palettes in Montreal’s “RestoPolis” – Crescent Street. All I know is that yogurts from Swurl will be on the night’s menu as well as **smiling**… BURGERS from one of our favorite spots, Burger Bar (read our feature about it here). And to top it off, the discovery of a newly opened restaurant called Addict, which I’m quite excited to try out.

Now fret not dear passengers, the experience will be the talk on a future Paperplanes.ca flight and I’ll be tweeting live from there and posting pictures on our Facebook fanpage. Hope you will be on board for this!
