With French Canadian actress Sophie Prejean as their ambassador, skincare brand DermaGlow goes back to basics with the launch of their new line Essentials. It’s where Nature gives its best to bring out yours.
On a day while the Montreal sky gradually darkened with a cloth of clouds and letting dispersed raindrops fall, some faces down below were getting the 411 on how to achieve glowing skin with the help of the new and upcoming skincare line Essentials by DermaGlow.
Essences of roses, litchi, kiwi, pomegranate and the lathery smoothness of shea butter for their antibacterial, soothing, antioxidant and hydrating respective properties are some of the key ingredients you will find in the hypo-allergenic, few ingredient-containing products of the line.
Going NOMU and cleaning my face with water and a washcloths for about three months gave my face a break from layers of chemicals. I was now ready to start a new skincare regimen. However, needed to be selective as I wanted to avoid trauma to my skin and eventually breakout.
Learning about the core-conception of the Essentials line made me confident enough to make it the first one to try on my face. Let’s take a look at my winning combo and the rest of the line.
The Micellar Water-based cleanser : super-rosewater
Rose water is known for being antibacterial, and as this cleanser contains micelles and with the use of a cotton pad which will act as a complementing magnetizing agent, it will suck in the oily and non-oily impurities, leaving your skin clean, smooth and soothed. Its the first product to use in the regimen as it prepares your skin to the remaining cleansing products of the line. It takes off make-up very well, even water-proof ones, making it my #1 product of the line.
The Exfoliating cleanser: Scrub away
Made of micro synthetic beads, it is not only the smooth operator but also an added pure operator to your skin. I really love that one.
This collection from micellar water to hydrating milk cleanser is gentle on the skin and great for all skin types. It’s an all-around winner.
Live. Laugh. Love. Your skin.

P.S.: Guess what I found on the marketing director’s Solen Marie’s blog? A pic of my sister and I at the beauty cocktail bar, which served drinks made of ingredients found in the Essentials line product. My favorite drink was the Micellar water cocktail, made with (you guessed it!) rose water and litchee, Aloe Vera cube (a discovery), raspberry vodka and white sparkling wine… divine!
