Kiehl’s and the winter strikeforce

By Myriam Richard
Winter season can be a battlefield for one’s skin. When dryness and frost sets in, we may feel like defeat is the only route. Ah, but fret no more, dear readers. I’ve discovered a quartet of products that turns the needle around and thus set up a beauty strike force. Read on…
My on and off relationship with Kiehl’s product is on the verge of staying in the “ON” zone for a long time now that I’ve fallen for a number of their products. The x-factor these selected ones possess is their winter-friendliness. The dryness of skin and hair can be a thing of the past with them.
The On-Call Medic
I love it when the creams I use on my gets-dry-to-the-point-of-pain hands penetrate quickly and leave a non-oily but deeply moisturizing feel and texture to the touch. And recently, I’ve added the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve to my über short list. The name says it – it will save the health and hydration of your hands, as it did to mine. Following me everywhere I go, this one is a definite recommendation!
P.S.: Flip open the cap, and tell me what you smell. Think nordic spa… ;-)

The Repairer

After going blond this summer and not having carefully maintained the health of my hair afterwards, my mane suffered tremendous loss of natural hydration, softness and shine. It needed salvation. A protein serum and a good hair mask would do the trick. I received the Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pakand have been, for the past few weeks, very satisfied. Though directed to leave for 3-5 minutes in your hair, I keep it in under a plastic cap AND hot towel or dryer for a greater thermo shock-therapy for ½ -1 hour, once a week. Since, my hair got back its strength (barely no hair on the comb), shine and moisture.

The Rejuvenator
Our beautiful face will never say no to extra TLC (tender loving care). Winter tends to ignite the desire for more of it. With the paraben, fragrance and mineral oil-free Midnight Recovery Concentrate, your face gets treated with a skin replenishing elixir (I love that word!) of pure essential oils that will help it keep its natural beauty and eradicate all signs of winter’s aggression, making you wake up with joyful skin, throughout the season and beyond. (to be used 2-3 times a week though!)

The Savior
Out of all the products in that quartet, the Imperial Body Balm takes the flame as my favorite. Ever heard of sea buckthorn oil? Used for over 1300 years to beautify hair, skin and nails, this oil from the Sibu fruit found on the high mountains of Tibet, contains the rare Omega 7 fatty acid which not only promotes healthy and proper cellular function but also is a major player in collagen creation. Skin loses collagen as we age, hence the appearance of wrinkles. The sea buckthorn oil, as written on the jar, is also a secret ingredient used by Russian cosmonauts. So not only do you get imperial treatment with the balm, but a spatial one as well. Need I say more? And for better result, I was advised to use right after the shower when your skin is moist.

Lo and behold, using that foursome is adopting it. I’m really glad to have discovered these products for this season, which affects my skin tremendously. And knowing that they’re all-natural, adds to my contentment. The great thing about Kiehl’s is that you can try ALL their products before purchasing them, by asking for a sample. So head to your closes Kiehl’s counter and be winter-ready to fight for your skin!

Live. Laugh. Love. Fight for beauty.
