Ladies and gents, its happening soon…the week where we wish we weren’t so drawn to this dish that is for some ‘addictive’; the MTL Poutine Week presented by Food Week Montreal!
We are trying to find the best poutine in town which is always a debate because there are so many different places that serve it and also, it is a plate that you can go crazy and add all sorts of ingredients to it. Sometimes the classic version turns out to be the best! ;)
During this Poutine Week edition, we find note worthy restaurants like Bevo, M:BRGR (who participated at the burger week ), Poutineville, IBurger and Méchant Mangeur to name a few!
The event is simple, you visit the site to see which restaurant is participating and test out their recipe. Order a small poutine for 5$ or the big one for 10$.
Share your experience on the site and at the end of the week , we will know who has the best (or shall i say most creative) poutine in Montreal . I really can’t wait because here at Paperplanes.ca we love poutine, especially when devoured after a few drinks….lawd have mercy!
Sounds easy right?! The tricky part is that eating a poutine everyday of the week might not be a good gesture for your coronaries but I am not here to burst your bubble. ;)
Find friends to test out different places and compare notes if anything…ok im still trying to avoid the ‘a poutine a day’ diet that you are about to embark!
I am really assuming that all of you know what a poutine is here! Here is a picture that was shared by Mechant Boeuf!

Here are two poutine recipes that I found fun and different!
General Tao Poutine from Poutineville
Home Crushed Potatoes (this is interesting)
General Tao (i can see how adding a crispy element could make it fun)
Scallions (this will add more flavour)
Sesame Seeds (the asian touch…love the idea!)
The Hangover Poutine from M:BRGR
Fresh Cut FriesFrench (ok…good start)
Fried Onions ( always a good touch)
All Beef Salami (cant go wrong with meat)
Portobello Gravy (aaaahh now this is a smart twist)
Fresh Cheese Curds (still not a fan of the gratd cheese version that some places offer)
Fresh Parsley (all of sudden the parsley makes you think that its a healthy dish!!! )

Poutine week MTL brought to you by Foood Week Montreal is from Feb 1st to Feb 7th and more than 30 restaurants are participating in this foodie madness!
There are other events, giveaways and parties during that same week to celebrate or try to forget that you had that many calories in a week….ok im done!
Get ready and eat responsibly! ;)
